ChallengeGasoline distribution company Getty Petroleum partnered with theme park company Six Flags® to drive traffic to theme parks and gas stations up and down the east coast. A scratch-and-win promotion was planned with Getty as the sponsor. However, certain state regulations prohibit an oil company to sponsor a promotional game of chance.SolutionMRI confirmed the states that will not allow this form of promotion and redeveloped the promotion into four separate promotions based on region/theme park. Game pieces were distributed to consumers at participating LUKOIL and Getty gas stations. Prizes included: (1) four tickets to local Six Flags® Theme Parks with guided tour, (25) four tickets to local Six Flags® Theme Parks, (25) two tickets to local Six Flags® Theme Parks, (100) one ticket to local Six Flags® Theme Parks, and discounted offers to local Six Flags® Theme Parks.DetailsDeveloped rules and revised the mechanics to keep the promotion legal within the guidelines of each individual participating state. MRI also created a seed plan to distribute the prizes across all regions, assisted with game piece production, provided high level game piece verification to prevent fraud, validated winners, and processed consumer requests. |
