What do you do?
Oversee long and short term company positioning. Manage company finances. Help create and implement employee incentives. Monitor ideas and attitudes. Create a working environment that makes people want to come to work every day. Monitor customer satisfaction.
What is fulfilling about the work you do?
I like the creative aspect of the work. Combining multiple ideas, trends, technologies into a comprehensive solution that delivers results for our clients.
What is your biggest accomplishment working at MRI?
Securing the PepsiCo business 16 years ago. Having this account has allowed for greater flexibility and security for MRI.
What do you love about your position/the industry that you are in?
Every day presents a different set of challenges....a different conversation. There are no rules for how you solve a problem. The pace is quick and the turnaround time is short.

What is your educational background/training?
I have 2 degree's in Music performance from The University of Michigan. I played professionally for 3 years and then went back to school to work on my MBA. One semester of MBA work and I was recruited and hired by Ross Roy Advertising in Detroit. I have experience in Advertising (Account Services, Media Buying, Media Planning, Marketing Research) and Marketing Promotions. I've set up regional operations, international operations for Europe and Japan and ran account services for the McDonald's business at Simon Marketing for 10 years. I have worked multiple business sectors including QSR, Package Goods, Automotive, Marine, Retail, Beverages, B-to-B and Alcohol/Liquor.
What do you enjoy to do outside of work? What are your hobbies/interests?
Hobbies include boating/sailing/jet skiing. Driving too fast. Bicycle Riding. Concerts. Foodie & Wine Events. Travel. Sitting on the beach reading a good or really bad book.
What is something interesting about you that people wouldn’t know from talking to you?
I was a successful musician before moving to marketing. I've recorded on London and Motown records. I've played for The Temptations, Diana Ross, The Four Tops, Tony Bennet, The Detroit Symphony Orchestra and Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus. I've played Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Chicago Symphony Hall and the Montreaux Jazz Festival. I taught music at the National Music Camp at Interlochen and Olivet College and played in jazz and funk bands in Detroit and Chicago.
If you could be any animal, what would you be?
A sea turtle.

What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
When I was at Burton Jr High School in 1969 we had 2 school dances featuring bands from local high schools. The first dance featured Bob Segar and the second dance featured Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes.
